I might be in the middle of all that is required to host two large meals this week, but it's all good because Caden comes home from college tomorrow! I haven't seen my oldest since September. I'm excited!

Isn't it interesting when someone gets away with something and instead of choosing to take their win and live their life, it often emboldens them to jump right back in?

Maybe your life's purpose is just to be authentically you. I mean, no one else here on Earth is fully equipped to be that person but you.

I am always amazed at the book people offering to "help" me, saying how great I am, love my stories, but use my landline and personal email to contact me. Yeah, I get it, you can find that stuff, okay, but, if you'd done any homework on me, you'd have my preferred email and cell number for this.

I have gen z kids. I've learned when they say this ___ is fire, that means it's really good or awesome. Today I learned if they say I had fire poop, that does not mean good or awesome. It does mean what we'd think it means. Alrighty then.

Shout out to Progressive! I called to do something with my account and the automated portion you go through had a bit that said something about if you are a government employee affected by this shutdown let us know and we will help. I love Progressive Insurance!

I was blessed to find the missing grandfather for a client. This was a situation where the grandpa that they grew up with wasn't their bio grandpa. A DNA test and digging helped find the bio person. I have the greatest joy in bringing this info to clients. Give me a shout if you want some help.

I used to enjoy oranges. I'd eat them the normal way, one segment at a time. Now I'm the crazy lady who's shoving an entire half an orange in my mouth at once to eat it as fast as I can so my dog will stop pawing at me. You ever open a bag of chips silently? Impossible, yet I continue to try.

Remember to be gentle with yourself in the coming weeks. The holidays can be stressful for many on their own and now we must be cheery and do all the things while we work to process the information overload that we are now force fed daily.

Neither a wise man nor a brave man lies down on the tracks of history to wait for the train of the future to run over him.

Do we have a list of reputable sources for helping Jamaica after this monster passes?

The reflection in a puddle is often a distorted image of the original. When we reflect back to our previous self we view it in the same way as the puddle, not a mirror. Be gentle with yourself. The mind often distorts the memory.

Sitting at the precipice of a stormy weekend draws all the cozy and comfort seeking feelings to the surface. It feels like a pause, a timely stormy pattern to quiet the human chaos and let nature's energy recharge my soul.

This cyclical pattern through history leads me to wonder what lesson we continue to miss.

To not know history is to not know the fibers that wove you into being.

We are more powerful than we often realize. Things can happen all around us, but it is ourselves who decide if those vibrations get to hum within. Every choice we make, action we take, and word we speak, write, or read either continues the chaos or breaks free from it.

Where do you go when your soul needs peace? I turn to my yard. From dirt to a wildlife haven, this is what ten years of hard work looks like. I find courage in knowing that other sorts of very hard things could become a thing of beauty if we all work hard enough for it.

Sometimes you are just going through your day like normal and something announces that just knocks you sideways and leaves you seriously considering the possibility that we did change timelines. I'm so confused and yet very clear at the same time.

Do you ever feel like you're standing in the center of the storm? Inside of you is a disconnect, a calm that shouldn't exist when the world is spinning faster carrying bits and fragments, pieces and things that used to make sense. So anyway, that Ancestry release! Great stuff!
October 9, 2025 at 11:10 PM
Ancestry is updating and rumor has it IT'S DROPPING TOMORROW! Everyone with Ancestry DNA is being reevaluated due to major advancements in the science. Expect your regions to be more precise and your percentages to change. You might even see something completely new!

I'm anxiously awaiting the Ancestry update! Who's excited? Me!

Imagine being so afraid of the future that you grip the past so tight you end up causing damage to yourself and others.

I am tired and sad but tomorrow can be better. And if not tomorrow, then the next day or the one after that. I will never give up on the hope and dream that the future will be better and brighter than the now.

The sound of rain after too long of a dry spell feels peaceful and hopeful for the future world.

I sit and wait for traffic lights to turn green from the comfort of my living room. Me, as I watch the little van drive around on the map telling me how many more stops until it's my delivery turn. 🤣
