Just cause is used in labor arbitration to determine whether an employer has a valid reason for disciplining or terminating an employee. In tomorrow's Teaching Tuesday session, we will discuss the tests to meet the standard of just cause.

Enemy of Labor #3? George Pullman ❌
He built luxury railcars while exploiting workers. In 1894, he cut wages but kept rents high in his company town. When workers protested, he crushed them—sparking the violent Pullman Strike. Profits over people, every time.

On this day in 1963, more than 250,000 people gathered for the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. It demanded fair wages, equal rights, and dignity on the job—and showed that civil rights and labor rights are inseparable.

Carnegie’s ruthless lieutenant, he sent Pinkertons to attack striking steelworkers in 1892, killing & injuring dozens to crush the union and protect profits. ❌ We’ll never forget.
