I can't get over how telling the developer of a conversion of a game to play the original and at least 1CC it is somehow controversial. These guys don't care about the actual gameplay at all as long as it's wearing the skinsuit of a game they don't play but have childhood memories of. World gone mad

There's a (mostly excellent) Elden Ring overhaul mod called Reforged that made Torrent susceptible to status effects so you can't use it to trivialize those hazard swamp sections anymore and you have to actually deal with them, you should have seen the backlash the modders go, it was biblical.

I have a feeling with the newer From Software players that anything that is not timing the roll slop button to rhythmically telegraphed attacks is seen as bad design. Elden Ring even gives you an immortal horse to ignore most of the poison swamp sections, which are a Miyazaki staple.

Iconoclast loves it too.
