Are you a troll? I know exactly who Sadiq Khan is, and who Zack was referring to. Sadiq Khan is a senior Labour politician, the former MP for Tooting and a former cabinet minister, before he became Mayor of London. I suggest you learn to think.

Unfortunately, this is the case with a lot of degraded ecosystems, such as degraded peat bogs. Where they go from first class carbon sinks, to net emitters of carbon emissions. There is a total lack of joined up thinking.

Only recently, do we see the likes of @zackpolanski.bsky.social and @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social challenging this bizarre zombie policy, we've been subjected to, for over 40 years. Where most politicians wouldn't even talk about changing the status quo. It has looked like a stitch up.

We know nothing at all about this doctrine, that has meant general policy between parties over the last 30-40 years has been amazingly consistent. With no politicians of parties of power, promising to change direction, aside from maybe Jeremy Corbyn, and Bernie Sanders.

Prior to 1980, it wasn't the same. Large industries were privatized, there was decade upon decade progressive policy, and an increase in general living standards. Policy varied between parties. Now there seems to be some sort of invisible consensus, that looks a lot like neoliberalism.

It's not just in the UK, in most Western democracies, it is the same, where for the last 40 years, the party in power, broadly follows the same policy, regardless of the party or the country. There are clear sacred parameters, where altering them, is taboo.

On a personal level, what I find most frustrating, is the abject refusal, to change direction on matters relating to the natural world, the environment and climate policy. Where all parties promise action, do nothing, but token actions, and things get worse and worse.

Bringing the public utilities, back into public ownership, has been very popular with all the voters of all the main parties, for a long time. But none of these parties will consider it. Coming up with weak and feeble arguments, easily debunked.

I said this with regard to the refusal to increase, or consider taxes on wealth, assets. All parties of power, have been in lockstep over this.

This doctrine is most clearly seen, in terms of the privatization of the utilities, especially water, in the UK, and the refusal to nationalize them.

Almost certainly, this is neoliberalism, but as all the main parties have denied neoliberalism exists, and dismiss it as a conspiracy theory, all we can say for certain, is some form of doctrine exists. There are clear boundaries of what policy will be considered, or not considered.

Overall, they want to believe us, that there is no other choice, and their policy choices are dictated by pragmatic common sense. Yet, these are clear, hard arbitrary parameters, from which they will never deviate.

Why will they never consider moderate tax rises on the very rich?

This dogmatic refusal to alter policy like this, no matter what the government in power, pretty much proves they are following some sort of doctrine. They give weak and feeble justifications, for this, that make no sense. None of them will consider changing direction, on certain issues.

For instance, there is a stubborn refusal to reverse the privatization of the utilities, and put them back into public hands, no matter how badly they are performing, and how popular this is with the public. To understand this, it is best to focus on a clearly defined issue like this.

There are clearly defined boundaries, on what policy they pursue, and what policy they refuse to pursue. More privatization, massively growing salaries for those at the top, lower taxes on the very rich, a refusal to clamp down on tax havens, squeezing benefits.

It's something to do with neoliberal doctrine, and it is about time, we found out, exactly what has been going on.

For the last 40 years or so, every party of power, not just in the UK, but in other Western democracies, has pursued essentially the same policy.

It was a turn of phrase. I was saying no matter what Trump did to America, he would claim it was a great success.

A delusional narcissist, and pathological liar. He could destroy America, and he'd still be boasting he is the best president ever.

We are very poorly prepared for food security and the impacts it will have, even in the early, relatively mild phases of climate change. It is all very well for the ecologically illiterate, to talk about adapting to climate change, simply because they have never thought about what it means.
