You're telling me that this Leonard Nimoy was annoyed that people didn't take him seriously because of Star Trek?

I thought he was going to declare martial law next. Not pretend that fixed everything like a preschooler pretending they cooked dinner. Doesn't even know how to fascist properly.

Part of me thinks violent people only respect violence but in this situation you're 100% right. They're the school bully who tries to get you to hit them so they can say you started it. They're killing each other right now and still blaming phantom leftists.

With a good editor, Brick Immortar could get that down to a tight 3 ½ hours I think

Especially in the West, there's too much magical thinking. Too many people wait for Santa to bring the presents. We can't wait for fascism to pass like a bad storm, we have to do something about it ourselves.
September 23, 2025 at 10:07 PM
Yes my point is that too many people see something like this and think "this too shall pass" and drop the motivation to make it pass. The people being murdered by this and other fascist regimes can't afford to wait until it's all better.

But how many lives will be destroyed before we correct course? A better future will not be much comfort to those that have been murdered by this regime

Yep, I blame the dog door too!

They're so satisfying. I almost want to leave out old bananas just to zap fruit flies

Citing this the next time a kindergartener scoffs at my offer to glue their lost teeth back in. ORGANS. SHOULD NOT. FALL OUT. OF YOUR. HEAD. EVIE!

No, because that's against the rules

Mary Poppins is a killer soundtrack too. That era was incredible

Pre-Renaissance: Jungle Book. It's got Bare Necessities and I Wanna Be Like You are all time greats, plus Hathi's March and Friends are solid.
(Dalmatians is close but too sparse).

Post-Renaissance: Hercules. Go The Distance, Gospel Truth, One Last Hope, I won't say I'm in Love, Zero to Hero

Clickbait headline:

"Liberal eviscerates Republican Congressman with viral Tweet"

Thank you.

Me for the last five minutes:

reading... reading... reading...

"Ah ok, this guy's a huge dick."

May I kindly ask who this is in reference to? I don't quite recognize them

I guess that's part of the problem though, if we're prioritizing "meaningful" engagement then it doesn't serve as a public forum, only as a conduit to other places so people can make money
September 3, 2025 at 5:25 AM
But most people enjoy social media when they feel like they're having a conversation. Yes there's lots of vitriol but there's also connection. If I have over 400 followers but my posts get zero interactions then something is deeply wrong with the platform.
September 3, 2025 at 2:20 AM
I think that's the fundamental mistake of Musk's takeover of Twitter and the way other tech people wrongly view social media. In their minds, social media exists as a money maker which means posts need to create engagement so sell ads. Viral tweets and ragebait are good for their business model

I wonder if they're helped by never playing. They can still market them on potential whereas Arsenal have given all their players some game time and everyone can see their level isn't quite good enough.
