You may see the old man but look closer and you'll see the lifelong learner, the runner, the wannabe poet and the cineaste who loves stories of humanity and resilience. Family matters (and MCFC is part of my family)
Things I'd like to see for City this season:

- win Champions League;
- say bye to Pep (can't have another season of will he/won't he extend);
- groom O'Reilly as a box to box midfielder (he just makes things happen);
- play Ait-Nouri
- recruit specialist right back;
- get serious pace in defence.

I was never in the camp that thought City were in a title race. Too inconsistent (it happens when building a new team).

We won't go on long winning runs in PL (best we've done so far is 2 consecutive wins). Arsenal will churn out much longer winning runs.

On chances, can't really complain. We're not yet consistent enough - no where near the consistency of the great City teams

Say this every time but Savinho is the WORST finisher I've ever seen

Freezing tax thresholds is a bigger burden on otdinary people than the super-rich.

I'm fucked off that they won't tax the super-rich. And we know every extra fucking penny they take from us will be go TO the super-rich.

How much have they recovered from the super-rich Covid contract cons?

Here we go again:

1. Prime Minister before party
2. Party before country

Nth. Needs of ordinary people.

The same Barney Ronay that declared Liverpool had won the transfer window. Now says dealings didn't make sense. Sigh.

Also, it was only 2 weeks ago that the Guardian asked whether the title race was over following City's loss to Villa.

They really are fuckwits.

Arne Slot’s big mistake at Liverpool this season? Failing to drop struggling Salah | Barney Ronay
Mohamed Salah has drifted from crucial to peripheral in big games, and Arne Slot’s decision to keep picking him is strange

I've enjoyed City's last 2 performances - but I still don't have the same level of trust in this team as in earlier versions.

So I am simply unable to feel confident about the game today. I am fully expecting a loss.

There, I've said it.

Ftom the sublime to the ridiculous. Last 15 mins City have been as bad as they were good earlier.
November 5, 2025 at 9:43 PM
City have found their joy again.
November 5, 2025 at 9:18 PM
Fair play, both Doku and Savinho are playing very well
November 5, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Offside, but Savinho is the worst finisher I have ever see

Peak fucking Guardian! Physiatrist?!? Medical anthropologist?!?

When was the last time you saw your physiatrist, eh? Getting an appt with a GP is a minor triumph these days ' ... oh, and can i see the physiatrist while I'm there?'

City were actually fun to watch yesterday. For such a long time, we've been a joyless team seeking to smother teams to death by small, dull, endless passing routines.

Let's hope Guardiola doesn't do a 'grealish' on Cherki and sacrifice his joy for the sake of 'control'.

Doku through the middle is a revelation

We've had a shot!!!

30 min gone - still no attempt on goal.
October 29, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Still waiting for our first attempt on goal - only 22 minutes gone
October 29, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Slow, one-paced and sloppy. Losing all the 50/50s
October 29, 2025 at 7:59 PM
Well, that's exactly what City's complacency deserved
October 29, 2025 at 7:58 PM
Really frustrating that Guardiola sets us up with a high line with no pace and no specialist DM against teams that play with pace and power on the break.

Did it throughout our great slump last year and is still doing it.

Really lucky Villa only scored once yesterday.

No point in having a go at City.

Great teams have consistency, giving 8 or 9/10 performances.

We lack that consistency and are not capable of 9/10 performances. (Individuals are but the team isn't).

We hover between 6, 7 or, rarely, 8/10.

Savio, Bobb, Doku, Nunes & Reijnders lack consistency.
