Have you played at all with Felidar Retreat? I’ve got an Abzan build that clogs the board with Cubs, lands, and other earthbenders; lands a Retreat; and then wraths, immediately repopulating with Felidar. Negates the weakness to wraths while capitalizing on opposing cub deck’s.

Lively Dirge has felt so under appreciated for so long. It looks good here for Obie. I use it to get Sephiroth and a Greedy Freebooter; 5 for scry 1, a treasure, draw, gain 1 life, and opponent looses 1 life.

Dropped at that point being 1-2. Happy with how I played but the deck had to curve out perfectly to have a chance. Had to get Obsessive Pursuit, an actual bomb, out early and finesse my way to a win. #MTGxATLA

My third game was against the guy who placed first the previous day. 1-1, he was on four colour Allies, kept a two lander, drew the other two land colours, top decked Avatar Aang, which I spent two removal spells to kill, then he dropped Sokka, Tenacious Tactician and Suki, Courageous Rescuer. Over.

Coincidentally, I JUST slotted the last card I needed to complete the APC set into the binder where I started slotting them 24 years ago. Vindicate! Very cool feeling and full circle moment. Love this game.

Kit yielded a mono-black sacrifice/draw two deck. 0-2’d my first match, getting SECRET TUNNEL’d (“Oh I remember the last part! 'And die...'”) both games. Quickly 2-0’d my second opponent. It’s a tricky deck, lots of moving parts. Two rares, no bombs, gonna be a slog.

Cannot wait for more limited play.

Draw two package; Seekers, Otters, and Hawks, heroes all. Earthbending felt awesome; Rumble Arena scry trigger repeatedly smoothed things and was a horse as a creature, vigilance on the land repeatedly drawing laughs. Being really light on removal was a factor in my loses but the deck felt so good.

Iroh and a lesson package; double Zuko’s for six won me two games. The Earth King and a four power package; the Earthbending lands doing work. Diligent Zookeeper and a non-Human package; 5/5 flying, vigilance, prowess Iguana Parrot’s were terrors.

Among lands:
Impact - Abandoned Air Temple: Control with a token end game? Along with United Front? Love it.
Dark Horse - Fire Nation Palace: Ceiling feels really high if a firebending deck can get a foothold. No risk in mono-red.

In colourless:
Impact - Planetarium of Wan Shi Tong: Not many choices here but I can see this being fun (not good?) with Parker Luck.
Dark Horse - The Walls of Ba Sing Se: Butts Unite! Bedrock Tortoise for hexproof! Pride of the Hill Clade to draw 30!
