All right so here's my plea. I'm a leftist. And I'm angry. I've spent a lot of time being angry at the right. I spent a lot of time being angry at maga. And in too many ways, I still am. But this moment demands us to do more, to be more. I never envisioned that I would find myself advocating for standing shoulder to shoulder with the people who demand the genocide of my family and people who look like me. I have serious doubts and serious trust issues even suggesting it. But the reality of the situation is that regardless of how misguided I think they are, we are stuck in the trenches with them, and them with us. I think we can all understand and get behind the idea at this point that St Luigi has shown us just how unexpectedly unified we are against the ruling political and capitalist class. I think we fundamentally all understand that the reality of our situation is driven by the buying and selling of our representation. That we no longer, as an electorate, have a seat at the table, because the chairs have become too expensive. I don't know how to win the hearts and minds of people who are at the very least apathetic my death. But I do know that the time for fighting amongst ourselves is over. It needs to be over. And not just between the left and the right, but also between the various factions within the left and within the right. We need to stop witch hunting in our communities. We need to stop pushing people out because they're not extreme enough, or too extreme. Because they're not educated enough in our particular corner of social justice. We need to stop assuming the worst of others, and start hoping for the best. We need to stop damning people for where they are, and help lift them up to where they could be. This to me, and probably to some of you, sounds impossibly hard. I have no idea how I'm supposed to reconcile the violence of the last 8 years with the sudden emergence of a potential class consciousness. But if we don't, we're doomed.
