The idea that supply drives the economy is a delusion. If people have money to spend, businesses will crawl over broken glass to sell to them. But if you strip away the public's ability to pay, you don't get a booming economy; you get stagnation. You cannot create a fire when there is no fuel.

Bottom line? There are essentially no savings, just a reduction in service along with a likely increase in cost.

I think one key to turning things around is focusing in on the way things actually work. We have so much evidence to build solutions on at this point. It should be used.

I fully support the peaceful #nokings protests, but I'm asking a crucial question: where do we go from here? If things don't change, what is the next step? There needs to be a clear, public, and non-violent escalation strategy. Strikes? More frequent protests? What?
