This tweet inspired me to go a little long about the trend of not-so-distant period piece movies pretending people weren't as shitty as they were and why that does a disservice to the people who lived through it.

Two years ago today we were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for protecting The US Capitol on January 6th 2021. Almost 4 years later the efforts to downplay, whitewash and minimize what happened appear to be succeeding. I won't ever stop standing up to them.

Schools don’t teach kids to be gay or trans. That just does not happen.
But they do teach your kids to use the restroom, wipe their asses, and brush their teeth.
