Inktense pencil drawing from tonight.

Could never figure out how to use them as a teenager so felt good to try again.

week 4: struggled with these charcoal drawings, couldnt loosen up and let my piece of charcoal direct the piexe at first but finally got there in the end. A lovely exercise I want to try again and again.

Finished piece (or at least finished enough)

week 3: after a warm up studying face proportions, scaled up our photos on an A4 canvas and put down the flats for our portraits. Will work on the actual face next week as well as a few tweaks to the hairs shape.

week two: paint to paper. unfinished piece to be completed at home.

Have recently started a painting and drawing course so will be sharing my progress here over the next five weeks.

Week one: Contour drawing of my left shoe with pastel to fill the negative space.

Felt good to draw using an easel!
