For those interested in public health matters: In Alberta the flu continues to diminish, and RSV has virtually disappeared; BUT Covid is surging again & there are >1000 measles cases. If possible (Alberta Health does not make it easy), try to keep up with the latest vaccine booster shots.

Regarding monstrous statements and actions taken recently: Ignorance compounded by stupidity and/or madness leads to calamity. The world is fraught with dangers. No world leader should be allowed to continue in office who is grossly unaware of and does not have the capacity to understand reality.

Helicopters flying overhead enroute to the G7 meeting in Kananaskis for the past couple of days. Well, I say "G7" but one delegation was clearly a stand-in for the former eighth delegation that was booted out for the illegal occupation and annexation of part of it's neighbor back in 2014.

We just had Covid-19 booster shots today (our 10th Covid-19 vaccinations in total). Despite our advanced years (mid-80s), thanks to the vaccinations, along with masks and isolation for the five years, we have managed to avoid contracting this dread disease. Tragically many others have not.

Democrats who live abroad who can prove their U. S. citizenship, including those who live in Canada, cannot now donate to Democratic causes via Act Blue unless they physically donate within the U.S. Does anyone have the slightest idea why this is the case? To me, it make no dollars and no sense.

I don't think I remember hearing anything about prices going up and stock markets tanking and allies being alienated in the first hundred days, but maybe I wasn't paying enough attention to the father of all lies. But I do remember the ranting about eating dogs and cats and the price of eggs.

Alberta Health Services reports that flu is the most prevalent infection now but Covid-19 and RSV are still producing hospitalizations, ICU cases, and deaths.

COVID is real and still killing people. Wear a mask in public and get vaccinated.

Have you noticed that MAGA repugnicons have their own version of DEI: discrimination, exclusion, inequality? Now I could get behind banning that version.

Canada has been a good friend to the U.S., and it continues to respect the country despite the pronouncements of its titular head, but something needs to be said. These apt comments in a conservative Canadian newspaper were just called to my attention.
