This is a beautiful passage from the book "The Lover Within: Accessing the Lover in the Male Psyche" by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette.

My Garmin watch has a few different breathing exercise programs to help reduce stress, and often (not always) it really helps. This screenshot shows my stress scores while doing 8+ minutes of equal-timed breaths (e.g., inhale 4 sec, exhale 4 sec). The watch calls this the Coherence technique.

Went on a tour of historic houses this morning. This house was my favorite of the bunch.

Just about 30 or so egrets hanging out in a pond along with a few sandhill cranes, underneath a waxing gibbous moon.

In May 1059 B.C.E., the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn were all within 7 degrees of sky. Here's what that would have looked like, according to the Stellarium astronomy program.

I learned about this alignment from the excellent book "Our Moon" by @rboyle31.bsky.social.

I've purchased a few digital comics from @darkhorse.com over the years. Today they announced they're shutting down their digital service, and as of this summer I will no longer be able to read my comics. This is a good reminder that often you don't own the digital goods you purchase.

So there's this peanut butter I like called Crazy Richard's. But I can never remember if it's called "Crazy Richard's" or "Uncle Richard's", which I think shows how often "crazy" and "uncle" go together. Also: I am an uncle. 🤔

For the few of us interested in Edgar Cayce, this book is an informative and worthwhile read.

My favorite quote:
"[Cayce] gave a reading for a man in California; it was early in the morning out there and Mr. Cayce began the reading with a humorous aside: 'Mmm, right nice looking pajamas!'"

I just finished reading this book, and it is outstanding. It's a first-hand account of studying the little-known fish owls in an extremely remote region of far eastern Russia. A captivating and fascinating book, written by @jonathanslaght.com. I love the cover, too.

Arthur Machen wrote some very unsettling horror stories. Probably wasn't a good idea to read one right before bed last night.

Holy cow, @bsky.app finally fixed the bug preventing some users (like me) from liking or posting anything for the past two and half weeks!

I feel like the Silver Surfer when he finally won his freedom from Galactus!!

One of the key takeaways from my book club's discussion about "Co-Intelligence" is this: AI is not coming for your job. But if you don't use AI, someone who has your skills and does use it is coming for your job.
