(the best of both worlds is probably Dragon Age Inquisition, which is where BioWare finally mostly found the balance and then promptly ceased to exist as anything resembling a storytelling entity. granted even Inquisition had Solas fucking things up)

like surely there's gotta be a middle ground between "everyone immediately drools over you and has a six pack" and "world is essentially sexless but you do get to team up with a lesbian ex-CIA grandma". surely there's a best of both worlds here.

Explains why the modern game I’ve played that’s most radically interesting with player choice, IMHO, is a visual novel (Hundred Line), and even that suffers from the “canon” route being one of the few to have a fully animated ending cutscene (so once you get it everything else feels half-assed).

I’m not even saying I agree with it just baffles me that everyone treats the cause like some mystery when it’s really not. Can nobody read the room anymore.
