We had a blue sky (pun intended) here the other day so I went for a drive with a friend about a mile outside Macduff on the North East Scotland coast. The rock formation you see here is the rock at Tarlair.

One of the things I love about coastal towns is they always have an anchor on display. This one is huge and was apparently dropped by a pirate ship around 250 years ago in Banff bay.

Every year come this time Macduff puts on a display to commemorate the fallen. It an impressive display of hand knitted poppies that cover an area the size of a tennis court.

Did a wee pilgrimage yesterday to St Drostan’s Well at New Aberdour, a fresh water well about 50m from the beach and would have been used in pagan times long before it gained its current name. Here’s a photo.
