#EECep is an unusual binary star, a so-called "disk-occulting system". Every 5.6 years the Be-class primary is eclipsed by a dark dusty disk of its invisible secondary star, resulting in quite long eclipses of 57 days. One is currently happening, observed with my @unistellar.bsky.social #eVscope.

A #solarstorm with an initial speed of ~730 km/s is on its way toward Earth! It’s associated with an X1.7-class flare that peaked today around 07:35 UTC.
The CME is expected to arrive Tuesday, 11 November, around 20:00 UTC (21:00 CET).
Let’s hope for a better aurora show than on Friday🤞🌌

New morphology in the tail of comet 3I/Atlas will inevitably be spun by the quack Avi Loeb as some evidence of alien activity. This is nothing new, we've seen similar behavior in other comes including 17P, C/2016 R2, and C/1961 R1, and others. It's ionized carbon monoxide. #3I #3I/Atlas #Comet 🔭

Inbound. Two active sunspot groups are now rotating Earthward going into this weekend: AR 4274 and AR 4276. Both already kicked off a pair of X-class flares in quick succession earlier this week, delivering an oblique blow to Earth’s spaceweather environment.

Location at time of observation.
This was a difficult object to model in our reentry model: very eccentric orbit (brief dips below 1540 km), and indications of changing attitude =- changing drag area
