Just finished writing Star-Traks:Halfway To Haven, Season 2 Story 6! It will be a long time before this run starts posting...I usually prefer runs of sixteen stories. But I thought I'd take the opportunity to remind everyone what Haven looks like. (2010 mesh)

One of my criticisms of Star Trek has been its over-reliance on techno-babble, to different extents depending on the series. I'm six stories in on writing the next season of Star Traks: Halfway to Haven, and am trying for fewer such... complications.

Just had this arrive the other day. Only a few chapters in, but so far enjoying the reflection on what the situation was with women and women's rights when Star Trek was first created. Very eager to read what else @nanavisitor.bsky.social has to say!

Just in case anyone was getting a 403-Forbidden error when trying to access the Nexus, it's fixed.

As I (Brendan) slowly make my way through writing Star Traks: Halfway to Haven Season 2, I've been increasingly obsessed over getting the scale of different locations around Haven correct. I blame the Kelvinverse films and Discovery's infamous turbo-lift scene.

The latest SNW episode has me thinking about Treknology, and how often Trek has introduced cool tech, only to have to nerf it immediately for reasons. In the case of the holodeck, Trek canon. Another example that comes to mind is the Quantum Slipstream Drive (QSD) introduced in Voyager.

Alan Decker started Star Traks waaay back in the early 1990s, writing a parody story about the crew of the USS Secondprize on a mission to Ugilious to rescue a physicist from the hideous Joegonots. I'm 1996 it found its way to the first Star Traks Nexus website.

This was my (Brendan's) first ever modeling attempt: the new, upgraded Waystation. Alan's concept was that it would be a massive station, using salvaged Ambassador-class saucers instead, resulting in a huge 100+ deck station.

Brendan here, I've finished writing stories 2.3 and 2.4 of Star Trails: Halfway to Haven Season 2! Was just supposed to be 2.3...but it ran really long. Sending them to Alan and Anthony soon for proof-reading. Not sure when I'll start posting the new season...need a story backlog.

Peter David inspired Alan, Anthony and myself (Brendan) with his Trek books. His creativity gave us stories we never saw on the big or small screens, but we loved them, and in our minds they were on Imax.

When I moved around a lot a few years ago I gave away all of my collection of Star Trek novels, except this one, which I've had for thirty years.
His work seemed to defy genre without ever forgetting or disregarding it. Truly the mark of a great storyteller.
