The Star Traks Nexus is the hub for several comedic series based in the Star Trek universe featuring original characters and crews, new ships, and situations that would send any sane officer running for the exits!

The city is about 3.2km (2 miles) in diameter, which puts the command pod atop the central tower something like 110 stories above the surface of the lake. I did this mesh along with a video of the city launching back in 2011 with a student edition of 3DS Max. Would like to do a Blender version...

So Haven features a domed city with a lake, parks, trees, public transport (trams). The Outer Rim is the space-station portion, with docking bays, shipyards, cargo facilities and so on. Beneath the city is all the support stuff...reactors, life-support, water/sewage...and a few secrets...

Haven's design is based 50% on a watch my parents gave me, and 50% on my criticisms of the titular city from Stargate:Atlantis. TBC, I loved Atlantis, and the city is amazing...but...no trees. No green space. Everyone dies if the shield flickers. How about shipyards? Factories?

Hmm. I've heard worse ideas. The D&D movie was surprisingly fun.

God, I hated that so much. In TNG it was annoying...in DS9 it didn't come up as much. But Voyager got REALLY bad for pulling out the meaningless techno-babble at every opportunity.

Cool! I knew Ron Moore was involved with both Trek and Battlestar, but didn't realize Doug Drexler had been as well!

TSFS was one of two star trek movies available at my small-town video rental store when I was a kid...I saw it many times. It's not the best of the TOS movies, but also doesn't deserve the hate is gets, alleged being one of the 'bad odd-numbered films'.

No, I'm afraid I haven't heard of anything like that. I wouldn't be surprised, but I also sort of expect it would have been broadcast on social media...

Like the old Interplay games? Star Trek: 25th Anniversary and Judgement Rites? Ohhhh...and TNG: A Final Unit.

Definitely agree on not needing stories where you have to save the galaxy. When it's always the end of the world, the end of the world loses meaning...

Heh, one of our guys wrote a little mini-series about a freighter crew. Star Traks:TOSsed. www.star-traks.com//side-traks/...
Star Traks: TOSsed
In the 23rd Century... Not every captain is James T. Kirk, and not every ship is the USS Enterprise. In this six-story mini-series, Mike Harper and the crew of the freighter the SS Clydesdale just w...

It was a great episode. My only complaint is how hard they worked to knee-cap the Quantum Slipstream Drive, because of course if it worked the series would end.

That's fair. Though I think a big part of that was the individual writers like Ronald Moore and Ira Behr...

Specifically, harassment and mistreatment of women, and blocking openly LGBT storylines. Berman was horrible to Terry Farrell, and it didn't sound like he was that great to Nana Visitor either. He didn't fire Gates McFadden, that was another TNG producer who didn't like women who spoke up...

Well...Berman had some pretty problematic views and behavior. Much of DS9's success was due to being left alone and ignored while he and Braga went to play with their new Voyager toys. The DS9 documentary "What We Left Behind" discusses a little bit of this, but not in a lot of depth.

Stargate: Atlantis did a much better job, at least in the pilot. The number of foreign expedition members did seem to drop with each season...

This reminds me of first G.I. Joe movie before 2010: "Oh, this is an international organization with participation from many nations working together!"

American ranks. American uniforms. American accents. American social customs. American everything.

Poor Alexander. Between him and Wesley, the TNG showrunners just did not know how to write children. Come to think of it, Voyager didn't do a great job either. I think Jake Sisko is the only character I look back on as a well-done character. (Alan and Anthony may disagree...)

Well...at least it wasn't Star Trek Nemesis?

Agreed. And there are ethical issues with AI. That said, it was helpful to visualize the more human characters and to picture them when writing. But I won't be posting any of the images.

I wrote a Caithian and a...well, a canine equivalent called a Shepian into one of my series. And partnered them up. It was fun, but I ran out of cat & dog jokes pretty quickly.
Also tried using Copilot to get an idea of what they might look like. Unfortunately, the results were...nightmare fuel.

Never heard of that one. But I am feeling somewhat inspired to re-watch "I Worship His Shadow"
