This appears to be the identical argument many Zionists use to insist that Netanyahu and the rest of the Israeli government are not committing genocide in Gaza.
The idea that it can't be genocide unless you have them on tape saying "we are doing genocide" is quite ridiculous.

I get that you prefer not to place any blame on anyone with the ability to change your world, but I don't think that serves a purpose beyond illuminating for people around you that you cannot speak truth to power.

I don't even personally agree with your logic here, though. I think the Biden team ran a historically bad campaign, from start to finish. And there has been this desire to blame anyone at all but the people who actually failed.
