Standard issue optimistic skeptic. That's me with Kermit Ruffins in the tiny circle, a signal I may post about roots music even though people associate me with beer (appellationbeer.com), and specifically with hops (hopqueries.com/subscribe).
Denver doubleheader. Hogshead Brewery’s Barge’s Mild on cask. On to Hops and Pie for Russian River Blind Pig (and garlic laden pizza).

Shredding Citra.

Chris Baum (Varietal Beer) and Kevin Watson (Future Primitive) shredding fresh Citra before it heads to the kettle. A little lupulin gets left behind.

When, several years ago, I showed Jack McAuliffe this photo he said they were Budweiser longnecks. The photo is from a UC-Davis class visit to New Albion. That's Michael Lewis on the lower right. Among the students were Russ Klisch and Brian Hunt.

Which one of these breweries is the outlier?

New Glarus Brewing
Samuel Adams
Side Project Brewing Co
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co
WeldWerks Brewing

The question was inspired by a longer list of "a spectacular line-up of high quality, sought-after American craft beers" here:

Hops from 4 decades in latest Liquid Mechanics West Coast Cartel, a collaboration with Burgeon. A read-through beer (looks darker because of can in background). From youngest to oldest: Krush, Mosaic, Simcoe and Chinook. Chinook, 40 years after she was released, ties it all together.
