Nice! I kept seeing it on so many YA lists that I shied away for along time. That just so often ends up meaning "written at a very simple level". But, a friend *very* highly recommended them, so I picked the series up on sale a little while back.

I think one of the first places I'd look would be Apocalypse World, personally. Really don't think it would take much if anything to use it for the setting.
