For @standingtrees.bsky.social, today our mighty Vermont Law and Graduate School Enviromental Advocacy Clinic student litigation team went to court to vindicate the requirements of keystone environmental laws. We are fighting for compliance with federal law and for the protection of public lands.

The broken "Fix Our Forests" Act still hasn't been fixed since @pingree.house.gov & @balint.house.gov voted NO on it in Jan. Hope @sanders.senate.gov, @welch.senate.gov, @shaheen.senate.gov, @hassan.senate.gov and all New England Senators can follow their lead when it comes to a vote this summer
🧵 The devastating wildfires in California are a harrowing reminder of the dangers of climate change—and the importance of wildfire response.

While I support parts of the “Fix Our Forests Act,” the benefits of the bill do not outweigh the concerns I have.

Here’s why I voted NO: (1/6)

Busy in DC this week advocating for commonsense policy for #publiclands & #climateforests. Thx to New Englanders @balint.house.gov, @welch.senate.gov & @shaheen.senate.gov for the interest in standing strong for our invaluable public forests 🌳 ✊

If the Telephone Gap project is approved, there will be logging on all sides of the Cape, an exceptional stretch of old growth and Vermont's only Research Natural Area. We visited this area Saturday, and it's clear we need to let the surrounding public forests grow older, not cut them down.

While the public is distracted by Musk and Trump’s antics, Congress is debating a law that would make it even easier for the US Forest Service to approve enormous logging projects. Take action today to stop the misleadingly-named “Fix Our Forests Act!”
Tell the Senate: Stop the Destructive "Fix our Forests" Bill

Wow! On a cold, snowy Saturday 90 people from Vermont and the region sent a loud and clear message at the GMNF HQ that our #climateforests at Telephone Gap are #worthmorestanding!

Now is the time for @sanders.senate.gov and @balint.house.gov to be heroes and cancel this reckless logging project!
