Vancouver residents can click the link below for our tool that provides you with a script and lets you call key votes on council about this issue (even calling after hours or on the weekend and leaving a message matters a lot!).

Even the city’s own budget survey showed only 10% of people agreed with the mayor’s plan.

With a vote on the budget coming on Tuesday, now’s the time to ratchet up to pressure even more.

And let’s be clear – his budget is *deeply unpopular.*

In addition to all the messages and speakers, more than 100 Vancouver-based businesses from all different sectors are unhappy with what Mayor Sim is planning and how non-transparently he’s handled this situation.

631 people signed up to speak – as far as we can tell, that’s a city record. It took four days just to get through them all!

The Vancouver community is making sure that Mayor Sim couldn’t sweep this deeply unpopular budget under the rug and pass it covertly.

Between the efforts of the Stand.earth community and our allies (shoutout @womentcities.bsky.social, @cape-bc.bsky.social, @dogwoodbc.bsky.social, the arts community) and so many more, not only did we send more than 17,000 messages to Vancouver City Council...

Think of it as a "wall of wind, corralling the ultra-cold, Arctic air over the North Pole," an area which, thanks to fossil-fueled climate change, is warming rapidly, weakening that wall and spilling frosty air further south.
