We now await the National Police Chiefs’ Council’s assessment report, due at the end of June. We remain committed to making sure victims' voices are heard and their safety prioritised throughout the justice system.

The HMICFRS, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, and the College of Policing backed our findings, and forces were given until 31 March to act on the report’s recommendations - including vital improvements to how stalking is recognised and managed.

When stalking isn’t properly understood, victims are too often left without the protection and support they need. Our 2022 super-complaint exposed serious inconsistencies across police forces' understanding and investigation of stalking, creating a postcode lottery for those seeking help.
