At just 3mm long the riverwood riffle beetle is BIG news for environmentalists in Staffordshire.

Why? Because it hasn't been recorded here for more than 150 years!

Our incredibly knowledgeable volunteer David Coles discovered on his moth trap sheet late one summer evening.

A reminder that our Gradbach Car Park near #LudsChurch and #TheRoaches will be closed for the day tomorrow (Monday 22 December) for tree safety maintenance work.

We've been planting seeds for the Stafford Brooks project. By raking the ground first, and planting native wildflowers during cool, wet months, we're giving the seeds a chance to grow into a beautiful meadow for local people to enjoy. 🌼

Our car park at Hem Heath Woods #StokeonTrent has now reopened.

It was closed while contractors resurfaced some of the pathways as part of a wider project to improve the reserve.

Work has kindly been funded by @veoliaenvtrust.bsky.social through the Landfill Communities Fund. 💚

This means more developments could go ahead without compensating for the loss of wildlife and habitats.
