A "model" is an EXEMPLAR.

"Train expert wasting time" means rearrange the letters in "expert" bit without the "T".
"in maladjusted company" means the letters "MAL" also have to be rearranged, somehow in amongst the letters EXPER.

Which gives you EXEMPLAR

And so the whole puzzle is done

And so, these many days, we come to the end of the crossword.

The Grand Finale

The last clue is 25 across:

Model train expert wasting time in maladjusted company (8)

Today's clue is 23 down:

To piece it together.

"Too many" is GLUT, and "firearms" means you remove the letters either side G/ LU / T

Then you've got "discharge", which is "pus".

And so LUPUS, a medical condition

"Thrilled" can be on edge, or "nervy"

"not very" means NERVY without the letter "V", which leaves you with NERY

"about it" means the letters IT go in there somewhere, and not necessarily where the "V" came out

N-IT-ER[V]Y

Thus:
Late spot kicks - not very thrilled about it (6)

NITERY
August 9, 2025 at 9:16 AM

August 6, 2025 at 9:17 AM

26 across:
The last thing to do with those passing their driving tests (7,3,5)

_ C _ T _ E _ / T _ _ / _ _ _ E _
August 5, 2025 at 10:38 AM
"Felt for one" means that "felt" is an example of the answer. "Ordering flowers" means something that flows, in this case bath taps. Usually taps are Hot and Cold, and "reordering" them gives you C- H.
A "yard" is a "LOT".
And putting the C - H either side of the LOT, you get CLOTH
August 5, 2025 at 10:20 AM
And so, the important business of today's clue. Today is a five-letter word whose fourth letter is "T". The clue is:

"Felt for one ordering flowers by the yard (5)"

_ _ _ T _
August 4, 2025 at 9:34 AM
And a "queechy" is a patch of very wet, muddy ground in a woods where your feet are likely to get sucked in and stuck.

Thus:

"What's the French for deja vu?" - Round off your debut with this sucker!
