Isn’t The Host kind of a thinly veiled SG-1 fanfic? I seem to recall the paraditea species being basically Goauld/Tokra.

Even if someone doesn’t, they’ve stacked the courts, they’ve gerrymandered the states, they’ve gutted the social safety net, destroyed the security and integrity of the treasury, IRS, and SSA—this will take a long while to fix, if it can be fixed, and that’s *if* an opposition party can get elected.
