The funniest social media news I found today:

"Tump kept the FIFA Club World Cup throphy for himself - leaving champions Chelsea to lift a replica".

"I was a stranger and ye took me in."

A message from the future that should define the present.

People laugh at the Chinese, but it's happening here too. Please look at the following Google's Gemini reply:

I followed your advice—copied and pasted exactly—and I have to admit, Gemini was mostly accurate (9 out of 10). The only mistake? It claims I'm fluent in English (0.9), which couldn't be further from the truth.

Are there still people out there falling for spam like this? 🤔

Thankfully, Google does an excellent job of identifying spam emails, so they end up in my spam folder before I even have to see them.

Stay safe and vigilant online, everyone! ✌️

So I corrected DeepSeek and repeated the question. However it still think Mbappe is a Barcelona player, the current manager is Guardiola, he came from Manchester City his full name is Luis Enrique Guardiola (further down, not visible in the screenshot). Terrible!

I was curious about the new DeepSeek AI so I gave it a try. It failed miserably in the first questioan I asked.

DeepSeek thinks Mbappe is a Barcelona player and its current manager is Ronald Koeman.

Oh gosh imagine somebody who didn't know just accept the answer DeepSeek spits out.

"More than half Gen Z think authoritarian leader better for UK than democracy"

Does it mean they prefer to be beaten up rather than being told nicely to behave?

How time has changed!

Every time I see the long queue of people waiting for a photo in front of an imaginary Platform 9¾ from Harry Potters novel, I'm struck by how many people live in the imaginary world of J.K. Rowling.

I found this graph on Wikipedia taken from the Maddison Project Database 2018. I'm wondering why East Asia had the highest GDP growth in that period (1950-2010), much higher than Western Europe? Why Afrika had the lowest one? And why the Middle East had first the rapid growth and then flattened?
