In the long run those synths were the series' best asset. The nostalgia they implied was just about the only thing that got me through it...

I'd thought it might be him but missed his name in the full credits on IMDB. Probably because I was marveling at the other stars who appeared on the show more than once, including Ned Beatty, Louis Gossett Jr., Rita Moreno, Tom Selleck and host of others!

Yes! Thank you!

Wasn't there a recurring character who referred to him as "Rockfish"? Or did my 10-year-old brain imagine that, back in the day?

Seen this picture a few times now & still can't even process it. What does Charlie Kirk have to do w/ jamming or even music? Why is Jesus playing an instrument? Is that Freddie Mercury or just some random Russian man in a weird suit? And yeah, why is a living human "jamming" w/ dead non-musicians?

There's nothing that hardens one's chops more than playing on heavier strings w/ no "gain" or amp compression. Just getting notes to ring out on an acoustic Guitar is an art in itself. I have unending respect for the great Bluegrass pickers or folks like Tommy Emmanuel, w/ both great tone AND chops!

Coupland himself has been quoted as saying, about the book "I just want to show society what people born AFTER 1960 think about things." And yet the term was co-opted by a younger generation. Even Wikipedia has it as starting in 1965:

Douglas Coupland, who was born in 1961, wrote the novel Generation X, from which the now-common meme was originally drawn. The book is based on his own experiences, as the attached article details. So I think the McSweeney's article about the eldest Xers turning 60 this year is just a bit late...

Counterpoint:

The Bears know how to do exactly one thing on Defense. They did it on the first play of the game, then laid down on the field and took the rest of the game off.

People who are wearing masks in 2025 are *protecting* someone. Either themself or someone they care about. That the person Jon accosted didn't wish to divulge who they are protecting is *funny* to these guys? Is it equally funny that Jon has a security detail that protects him?

I had a Rat Terrier who was a total heat miser. He'd sit up close to radiators, space heaters, ovens, open flames, you name it. When taken camping he had to be constantly pulled away from the fire, even big bonfires. He'd have lived at hair-singing range if we'd have let him...
