In a fast-developing story, we’re dismayed to learn that the four arrested 06/30 have been jailed for “inciting hated” & that cartoonist Doğan Pehlivan is additionally charged with “insulting” the president. Also an investigation into LeMan’s finances suggests an effort to destroy the mag entirely.
CARTOONISTS RIGHTS joins with @cartooningforpeace.bsky.social and @rsf.org in condemnation of the recent criminal arrest warrants and unrest in Istanbul, all over a misrepresented cartoon seen in @lemandergi.bsky.social last month.

Just watching this parade with neighborhood groups and it's celebration of diversity, equity and inclusion and thinking that I need to get a space blanket to add to my prepper bug out kit, you know, like you do.

At first it was fun, looking at the fashion, etc, trying to figure out which 1940s movie character the about-to-be FL was channeling, but the speech made me tear up a little. I'm concerned about the next four years.

I know nothing about the newspaper editing process but using "closes" and "closure" on the same page in two stories, one about business expansion and the other about reduction, creates a confusing picture about our local economy @usatoday.com #ArizonaRepublic

I can't figure out yet why my grandma stuck this newspaper page in a cookbook but I don't think it was for the gossip column in spite of this fun snippet.
