Sixty years ago today I was with my family on the Castel Felice. We'd just passed through the Suez Canal on our way to Fremantle for a new life. I had my 16th birthday cruising across the Indian Ocean. My Dad camera right.

107 years ago today my Dad was born. In his lifetime he saw the advent of air travel, the emergence of the motor vehicle, took part in a World War, and moved from the wilds of Shropshire, England, to the wilds of Mosman Park in Western Australia.

Didn't empty the rain gauge yesterday here in Nabiac, Australia because it was raining too hard. The gauge holds 26mm and then overflows into the bigger container. It took seven fills of the gauge. All up around 186mm or more than 7.3 inches in 48 hours. Easing now TTG.

Record breaking rains over the past few days here on the mid-north coast of New South Wales. Roads cut, flooding, rescues by the dozen. I am at Nabiac and here's some rain video.

Constant rain has weakened some of our massive gum trees here in Nabiac (New South Wales, Australia). Glad I wasn't standing underneath when this branch fell on our front lawn.
