He/him (but it's okay to whisper it), TTRPG Enjoyer, intentionally amateur writer, cheerleader for the art of vegan cooking, forgot more math than most people ever know (and is kind of embarrassed about it).

I have a blog where I'm reading through every rpg book I own (I've been doing it for 7 years and I'm at 520 out of ~850). If you have a free rpg you'd like me to write a post about, just drop a link. (If you have a non-free rpg, I'm willing to read a review copy.)

A new contender has entered the youtube gaming arena! A series called "Hardcore Survival" where I play all of my Open World Survival Crafting games for as long as it takes me to die the first time. Do not let the length of this first video be a spoiler.

I don't care what may have been revealed in the Durai Papers, saying Ramza was the "real hero" instead of Delita smacks of aristocratic-apologist historical revisionism.

At the Grand Junction, co NO KINGS rally. It's a bit of a silly event, a protest with crossing guards. Festival energy. Lots of pets and costumes. Unlikely to significantly disrupt the status quo, but this is Trump +24 country and we shut down a city block. There's hope.

Today, everyone is going to talk about what a monster Columbus was . . . as well they should, he was the fucking worst - but let's also remember that he was also a complete dolt who was absolutely dogshit at his job. If America hadn't been here, he would have gotten his entire crew killed.

Just heard that Trump's stormtroopers raided antifa headquarters and have killed the leader of the organization. #missionaccomplished.

I'm a vegan. I shouldn't have to condemn political violence. It should be obvious that if I don't approve of killing a chicken for food, I don't approve of assassinating someone for their political views.

Normally, you don't speak ill of the dead because they are no longer able to defend themselves. But in our fraught political landscape, that's a tactical advantage to precious to ignore.

How can it be a dog whistle if the centerists can't hear it? Checkmate, liberals.

Great news everyone! We're extending the continental breakfast by 20 minutes because a bunch of construction workers unilaterally decided to come to breakfast a half hour early.

It is undoubtedly hyperbole to call continental breakfast an "atrocity," but it is definitely hostile to human life.

New blog post on a delightful indie rpg, Paratype, that is not quite like anything I've ever read before:

For all the good it's going to do, I called Jeff Hurd's office to complain about the bill. Didn't follow best practices. Brought up multiple issues, cursed a bit, called him "a fucking murderer" - all things I know are NOT effective political advocacy.

I review rpg books for my blog, but if I've reviewed your book and you'd like more reviews on a particular platform, just let me know and I'll repost it. Also, a reminder: all my stuff is creative commons, so you are free to repost it anywhere, without even consulting me.

As someone who has worked in customer service for 17 years, I cannot quite articulate how viscerally upsetting it was that "Date Everything" (a lovey game I quite enjoyed) gave its main character a BFA in customer service.

The problem with "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good" is that it only ever swings one way. People say it not because they believe it, but because it's a useful rhetorical bludgeon. They don't actually want "the perfect." They think "the good" is perfect.

There's a euphoria that comes over me when I'm about to finish wtiting a book, but it wears off almost immediately AFTER I finish writing a book.

New blog post, this one about d20 Past. My verdict - go ahead and judge this book by its cover. It is an extremely informative cover.

New post about "Threats 2." It pains me to admit it, but I think Shadowrun might be at its best when it's in full "ongoing soap opera continuity" mode:
