I kicked things off in January with The Johnstown Flood by David McCullough. This book was actually published in 1968, but I first came across it as a kid when I read an excerpt in a Reader’s Digest at my grandma’s house and was very taken with the story. This book was both thrilling and devastating

It has been a slow effort to reactivate that reading muscle and I promised myself that 2024 would be a real rebuilding year. I am happy to report that I read 15 books this year. I’d like to share a bit about some of the ones that I found particularly meaningful or interesting.

Mine was Carrie, which I read while camping as a teen. Another category, but one of the strangest books of SK’s is Thinner IMHO
