I miss subeditors. The first sentence of this restaurant review is so mangled that I don’t know if the writer knew “the Romney Marshes” are in Kent or not, nor if they cared.

When I turned the telly on I thought it was Recycling Week on The Great British Sewing Bee but it turns out it was Toto Coelo on Top OfThe Pops 1982 🤷🏻♀️

No matter where the public chooses to get its news and opinions, the fractured, incoherent, gobs-on-sticks nature of everyone chucking in their opinion is why the public chooses to believe whatever comforts them. And increasingly what angers them also comforts them.

Four miles inland from the English Channel in the last week of May, 12 degrees though it feels cooler, 24mph south westerly wind. I doubt if there are any apricots left on that tree 😩

The light today was absolutely amazing at Romney Bay. We sometimes get a glimpse of France but today conditions were perfect* to see miles of French coastline and was even able to catch it on camera. *someone did explain it but it was over my head

The light today was absolutely amazing at Romney Bay. We sometimes get a glimpse of France but today conditions were perfect* to see miles of French coastline and was even able to catch it on camera. *someone did explain it but it was over my head

When the undergardener has prepared the soil in the veg patch too early for the tomato plants and there’s no cardboard available cos you’ve deleted your Amazon account so you’re glad you saved the sheets from last year’s giant calendar to keep the weed seedlings at bay

One doesn’t think of dandelion clocks appearing in swathes. The green has been covered in them for over a week and not a breath of wind to blow them away. And wind is not something we’re usually short of on Romney Marsh.
