On Friday, USDA reiterated that states were required to implement many of the megabill's SNAP cuts—major changes impacting millions of people—on the day it became law, with a grace period that ended 11/1. States won't get more time before they start being penalized for errors.

Since breaking the story, I’ve learned more about one state (Wisconsin) where the Trump admin on Friday had blocked some of the behind the scenes transactions that make SNAP work. And that’s raised some eyebrows heading into Monday about what might happen next, if the court doesn’t rule
NEW: The Trump admin told states it must immediately "undo" the work to provide full food stamp benefits, or face penalties. The feds sent this in a late-night memo, only adding to the chaos and confusion around SNAP. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/09/b...

NEW: Millions of poor Americans could see $0 in SNAP benefits even after the Trump admin agreed to resume partial benefits in response to a court order. This is because of the way the government has interpreted the directive, which could also delay aid for weeks. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/05/u...
