1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

I'm starting to make my schedule for #ESA2025 and ... can anyone tell me how to select individual talks in a session? I can only select the whole session, so far as I can tell. What button did I miss?

I was hoping for the yearly confluence of the Ecological Society of America conference and the European Speedrunner Assembly in the convention hashtag and the Speedrunners already had their convention! Aww, no interleaving of discussions of Borderlands and border lands. #ESA2025

I recently learned that one of my study species in grad school can be purchased as distilled liquor. I can’t decide whether this is something I would rather have known in grad school or rather not have known.

Let’s just say I don’t have any Elves as role models, but I do have Aragorn, Faramir, Éowyn, Théoden and Frodo as characters who I’d like to be like in real life. There’s a certain kind of wisdom to be gained from our experience of mortality that the Elves can’t.
