I have personal reasons for blocking quite a large amount of people, I don't mind if you block me back. ✌️
And thank you for helping me find a way. I really didn't want to withdraw my support. 💖

Whatever works best for ya! I was trying to think of the least troublesome way for you, so if you have a better one, all the better for both of us. So I just set up a nondescript PayPal payment on my own, right? Can you DM me the email to send a payment to?
November 3, 2025 at 5:50 AM
Under this idea you'd only have to send me the link once.

How does this sound. I'll set up a $5.00/month donation (which I think is more than I was donating on Patreon anyway) and we could have a Dropbox folder link you send to me privately if you think you can remember to drop pages within it? Then I can just check it periodically and not bug you.

Honestly, I'm not too concerned about finding a way to get funds to you outside of them, more about how do I get to look at the newest comic pages. 😅 I may have to opt to support you by buying physical copies of your comics and adding a good tip each time.

They also will openly ban you for criticizing them, whether on SS itself or ANYWHERE else, search "Harm to this Service" under subscribestar.adult/tos#prohibit...
November 3, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Yeah, I like SS even less 😔 I had an account (tried to migrate from Patreon) and I liked their TOS even less. The ADULT version of SS states that you cannot use their service for "any obscene or immoral purpose" (which nowadays means... who knows? I'm sure you understand why that makes me uneasy).

I do have a Ko-Fi, which I'm not deleting but don't really use. I much prefer people use PayPal directly.

Patreon has been consistently unfriendly to creators and patrons alike, and I am grateful that for everyone that stuck with me while I chose to stay there.

And since it may be suggested: I consider SubscribeStar as bad or worse than Patreon for reasons I discussed when I shut down my account, and don't really want to get into now. I had reasons to pick Patreon over SubscribeStar.

It even gives you the option to check a box to help me cover the fees (I lose a good amount between Patreon + PayPal's fees).

If you don't have or can't use a PayPal account, you can still make one-time donations w/a card, so you could make several months at once and choose this option if you like.
November 1, 2025 at 6:58 PM
If you are, and would like to, my preferred method would be directly via my PayPal donation link: www.paypal.com/donate/?host...

You can set the amount to be $5, $10, $25 or something else. You can also choose the frequency (one time, monthly --as on Patreon-- or yearly).

If you are a patron and have been struggling to give this extra $5.00 every month but felt bad to stop it/worried about hurting my feelings, etc., I completely understand, as times are getting harder for everyone. This is a good opportunity to reassess whether you are able to continue supporting me.

I'm "Squelfland" in all of those platforms. No one is losing access to any past or future content by me closing my Patreon account.

With that said, the support my patrons have given me makes a big difference, and I will be losing that.
November 1, 2025 at 6:58 PM
The content my patrons have so generously supported has always been available to everyone, and will continue to be, in other platforms: my personal website located at Squelfland.com, my BlueSky (here) Mastodon (welcometo.squelfland.com/@squelf) FA, Sheezy and Weasyl accounts as well as my Telegram.
November 1, 2025 at 6:58 PM
Not only that, but they compress art badly on the main view of posts, and it is just a crappy way to view it. Since I do not offer rewards, having Patreon be a middle-man makes no sense for me or my supporters.
November 1, 2025 at 6:58 PM
I've been meaning to do so for a while, as I do not like how Patreon treats creators. Plus, while my account is a "legacy" account so my fee is still lower, I'm quite sure it's only a matter of time before they bump up my transaction fee to the current 10%.

That’s really odd…
