Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical

Despite me not being too much of a fan of musicals, I had a very pleasant time with this one. Despite the musical elements being the main draw, it wasn't overbearing at all. The music was catchy and it had a very nice story.

Surprisingly enough, according to a 1976 DC calendar. I also share a birthday with Batman's Jim Gordon.

A paragon of what I feel what it means to "be a good guy." James W. "Jim" Gordon Sr. was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.

I aspire to be like Jim when I'm a little bit older then now.

My favourite birthday twin, Hayao Miyazaki.

Born on January 5th, 1941. Hayao Miyazaki has left a profound impact on the medium of storytelling, manga, anime and animation as a whole.

Known for basically all the Ghibli films you've seen, but also an abundance more.

I still love Princess Mononoke

Next, Clancy Brown.

Born January 5, 1959, Clancy is a fantastic actor, talented voice actor and close to my heart, as he's voiced in several Disney, Marvel and DC projects through my childhood.

Plus the general consensus is that he's a pretty good dude, which from what I've seen, checks out.

Marilyn Manson was born on January 5th, 1969.

Known for being a somewhat jarring presence in rock and metal, Marilyn, for me, has always managed to be unapologetically weird, whilst making sure that the people that dislike him always seem a bit abrased by him.

Which is inspiring for me.

So it's just ticked over today to the 5th of January for me, which means it's my birthday. 🥳🎂

In light of this, here are some famous people who share my birthday that I see as pretty cool.

Firstly, and perhaps most importantly. Roald from Animal Crossing.

I mean just look at his glassy stare!

I also imagine that another game that could track is Disco Elysium. This will be the final one I list (as I fear this thread may be getting a bit too long.) There is NO other game like this one, it tackles multiple, harsh themes and lays them bare for you hauntingly, and beautifully.

At this point, I feel like I should move on to something at least a bit more current instead of nostalgia bait. Life is Strange is probably going to be the most poignant game of this list. It's a near perfect snapshot of the mid 2010's, with hella heavy themes and a sci-fi time travel twist.

Another game that I feel is formative is Sonic Colours. (You can see I really enjoyed my handheld games) It wasn't as deep as the games I have above but this was still fun as hell. It played fast, had a unique mechanic with the Whisps, and still has the best soundtrack overall of any Sonic game imo

Pokémon Gen 5 (B/W, B2/W2)

If you're looking to ever play ONE generation of Pokémon ever, pick this one. These games are the cornerstone of Pokémon for me. Classic graphics, a locked Dex, forcing you to play with the new Pokémon, as well as banging you over the head with "truth vs. ideals"...

...they're safe picks. But I feel like we want some slightly deeper cuts.

So with that in mind, the first game that hits me is Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. This game was very addicting for my preteen self. It required you to have no prior knowledge of KH, it played fun, all in your pocket on PSP

Now that people know that Rockstar Australia is going to be a thing. I think it'd be pretty hilarious if they just took the logo and flipped it. Alternatively, just make it green and gold.
