I agree it indicates differences in fandom cultures. YOI is a closed canon; Bangtan isn't. And tbh ARMY readers have so much fic to choose from, as you said, that they likely treat it more commercially/as passive consumers than other fandoms that revere fic more. The truth hurts but there it is 😅

my point being I think that ARMYs are particularly bad, as a fandom, in engaging with "old" fics, and that other fandoms don't have this attitude that fics become "too old" for people to comment on them. It's interesting to observe!
