I have stood right there on the edge of Halema’uma’u when Madame Pele was a little less angry. This was 2004. The Colano observatory has been in my bookmarks since the visit.

I still haven’t climbed Mt Mitchel or Grandfather. Part of that is there are so many awesome trails at South Mountain that I just never make the plan. And South mountain is where knobby, our local Bigfoot lives. Been spotted as close as 17 miles from my door. This is at the coffee shop here.
