🚴 ❤️
Three years ago we opened the first bike project that was started and finished during my initial two months as Director of SDOT. The project completed the cycletrack around Green Lake by placing concrete barriers to take a small slice of Aurora for bikes on the east side of the lake.

i rode Rapid Ride D up to Ballard just to try the new pushbutton signal at 15th Ave NW and 51st St. i saw two different people use it within 5 mins. So happy to see a more people-friendly environment on what used to feel like a surface highway

🍂 The street trees of downtown Seattle are in full autumn color today.
🙏 I feel so grateful to have had the chance to be a steward of these streets: I’m thrilled to be staying engaged with the evolution of this great city

this aft i landed in Seatac, hopped on Link, and ran into @typewriteralley.bsky.social on the train. Transit is so much more social than private vehicle

🛴 Shared scooters and bikes were a big hit in Seattle this year: more than average 46,000 daily rides during the period of May thru October. The Lime seated scooter, a new vehicle type, outpaced shared e-bikes for second place after standing scooters
