Commercial fusion is no longer "30 years away,” as it has been since the 1950s. Widespread commercial deployment is now just 10–15 years off. That's a remarkable change. Low cost energy w/o carbon would have enormous geopolitical impact.

A Nuclear Fusion Breakthrough May Be Closer Than You Think
Clean energy from nuclear fusion may soon be commercial. But leaders around the world have done little to prepare.

San Francisco summers are famously chilly, with hot inland valleys pulling cold, foggy ocean gusts thru the city. June 2025 was exceptional, among the coldest since 1982. The measured daily maximums at SFO did not exceed 65°F /18°C from June 3 until end of June (pic @/nytimes)

July 15th will be my Bēs-centennial birthday! (pronounced: biece (like piece) centennial). If "semi-centennial" in Latin means "half-century," then two-thirds would be based on Latin for "two-thirds" (bēs or bēssis), to coin a new term (shown: balloons from the future).

There's a litter of foxes under our neighbor's deck. There's no fences here so see them (see pic). My next door neighbor saw them while driving, called her husband, saying, "I saw some foxes on the way to work!" He said, "How do you know they were on their way to work." She hung up on him.

Wearables are powerful. I know, I invented the green light heart rate sensor now on 1 billion wrists, to give insight into cell metabolism. Rahman invented the step-counting fitness accelerometer at Jawbone. Together, these will alter how medicine/health are practiced. gizmodo.com/rfk-jr-wants...
RFK Jr. Wants Every American to Be Sporting a Wearable Within Four Years
During a House committee meeting Tuesday, Kennedy announced a large-scale ad campaign from the federal government to hype wearable tech.

For those interested in learning about healthspan/longevity programs, it's about tuning pathways that control chronic disease and aging. Read Sinclair's Healthspan, or download my app, listen to the 20 podcasts. Avail only in iOS (too expensive to do both in 2022) at:

1 light-day from Earth. Light travels at 300,000km/186,000mi per second. Now, a human-made object, Voyager I will reach 1 light-day from Earth in 2026. It only took 50 Years. So, in 16,300 AD it'll have traveled 1 light year. *marks calendar*
in late 2026, nearly 50 years after its launch, voyager 1 will be the first manmade object to reach a distance of one light day from the sun

If a coordinated political movement runs Americans over w/cars in 2 cities, shoots into a gathering in 3rd city, shoots/kills a senator and spouse in 4th city, and shoots/wounds a senator and spouse in 5th, that organization IS an anti-American terrorist org. M*GA is a terrorist org.

This will become a favorite art piece: "Seven syllables of a haiku obscured by a vegan hotdog" by @/taj_bourgeois. It's:
- a haiku
- a photo with eponymous title
- an exact description of what you see
- math: I see 17 of 10, how many hidden?
- ethics: what's really under there?

Comment! As an icu physician, I see first hand how vaccines protect health and save lives. All people should have the ability to say yes, for themselves and their children. The vaccine program should not be a political target, it is objectively important. Covid vaccines should be available to all.

This is really geeky... But the thing I think about when I see this digit sequence 1, 3, 2, 0 on my screen just now (and then looping back to the starting 1) is that when expressed in 2-bit binary, each next digit can be created by changing only 1 bit in the current digit, and never both bits.
