I’m sure we all know the feeling of burnout. Student-athletes are no different. It can be helpful to dig deep into our “why” to pull out some of the reserve motivation that we have. If you aren’t familiar, I highly recommend the work of @simonsinek.bsky.social on this topic! #Psychology #Science

The people most obsessed with looking like high performers are usually the ones doing the least meaningful work.

They chase hacks, not habits. Optics, not outcomes

The real pros? They’re too busy doing the thing to document every detail of how they prepare to do the thing

I’ve had a lot of younger individuals, high school students and undergraduate students, asking about sport psychology. Sometimes I find it hard to adequately describe the profession to them and I often refer them to the AASP website. Do you all have any additional resources to share?

This is such an important area of research. As many of us know, the transition from our sport that has consumed most of our lives into a new role and identity can often be a daunting task. To unlock your potential with a growth mindset, try these things:
• See challenges as opportunities.
• Focus on effort, not perfection.
• Turn “I can’t do this” into “I can’t do this yet.”

What’s one challenge you can reframe today? Let me know!
