I now have a daily writing habit, post my work online, and have a whole collection of drafts and explorations - one of which I hope to see on a shelf someday. 😊 Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the movement you started that will long outlast the organization itself. 💜

At age 14 I was too scared of imperfection to ever put words on a page. Nanowrimo helped me deconstruct that over YEARS of doing it, and it enabled me to find and hone my own writing process! I would not have made it through my master's thesis without the confidence it instilled in me.

Chris, your idea all those years ago TRULY has had a lasting impact on myself and so many others. I first did NaNo in 2008 as a high school freshman thanks to a recommendation by my English teacher. Almost 17 years later, *I* am now a teacher telling my students they, too, can write a novel. ☺️
