Looking for an outfit, for that June 14 DC Military Parade fiasco?

I'm thinking a couple thousand dressed as "Tiananmen Tank Man" could appropriately set the tone.

The protests have been almost entirely peaceful. A handful of incidents isn't reason to use military on civilians, and some of these things could have been done by right wing agitators. This whole thing was created by Ole Yam Tits.

Amen.

I also hope to see a bunch of protesters in DC on the 14th ppaying the role of Tiananmen Square Tank Man," standing firm against an egregious parade.
I'd like to see, at least once, a change to this magnitude of protesters. It would be unnerving if not outright frightening to the jackboots if, to a person, everyone stopped, and faced them as one in complete silence. No movement. A wall of silent humans staring them down.

Two things can be true at once...
Newsom: These images are unacceptable. These people on the car. These aren’t peaceful protesters. They are playing right into Trump’s hand and they need to be called out. They need to be arrested but Donald Trump is the sponsor of these conditions

Military/police firing on the press is flat out dictatorship tactics. Funny, the same happened under Trump last term.

What is the pattern? Hmmm 🤔
Watch the slow motion: it appears to me that the officers discuss the photographer and reporter before the one on the end fires on them (it looks to me like he's aiming at the camera, not the reporter, but you decide)

100% self-inflicted suicidal own-goals, by people either ignorant or evil.

Unless... they don't care about civil society? Then they're well on the path to the destruction they seek.

The "Big Beautiful Ermächtigungsgesetz" comes next.
Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

Unexpected? Not entirely.

Bad for press freedom? Bad for a 1st Amendment on life support? Yeah.
LAPD unlawfully issuing orders to press today ("MEDIA GO!"). California Penal Code 409.7 explicitly exempts journalists from dispersal orders. LAPD knows this and command staff has been trained on it.
LAPD closing off alameda and aliso. Specifically telling press to leave the area.

Trump lunatics are openly calling for civil war on the basis of a few hundred people protesting in LA. It’s what Hitler himself did: took control of the government and then invented excuses for massive state and paramilitary violence.

@lutimestwo.bsky.social How? How did you write the perfect book? I just mainlined “Why Fish Don’t Exist,” and am truly gobsmacked!

So much I want to say. Last vestiges of restraint convince me to leave it at this. :-)

Almost Day 100... aside from abandoning Ukraine and NATO, rending citizens, tanking the economy, and enabling Elon to gut functioning departments, what has the 🍊💩🤡 done for us?

"Measles, Sir?"

A shorter version of my thread: for chrissakes can we pay attention to what fascism does instead of what it says? No, Trump isn’t trying stupidly and failing to revive U.S. industry. He’s trying quite effectively to burn it down so he can rule the ashes. Seriously. That’s the plan.

Pre election 🍊💩🤡: No more American wars!

Post election: I'm invading Canada, Panama and shoving missiles down Houthi throats.

"Petymology" -- the study of the inscrutable source of pet names.

"Sure, we call him "Tinks,"but that is just short form for Tinkly-Winkly, which is a nickname from "Mr. Tinkles," which derives from his "legal" name of "J. Reginald Tinklesworth, esquire."

FDR once bragged to a massive crowd at Madison Square Garden that the richest people in the nation hated him and “I welcome their hatred.”

Just weeks later, he was re-elected with 61% of the vote in a 523-8 blowout in the Electoral College.

Voters *like* politicians who make the right enemies.
The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

Comfirmed, corroborated.
This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

What's happening is a technocratic coup. Illegal? Yes. That doesn't mean it isn't happening. Nor does it mean we currently possess means to stop it. Nonetheless, those with power must try. So far, most aren't.

Roughly 10 years ago I was reading about how effective Elon Musk was in watching Tesla and getting around the obstacles imposed by the big three GM, Chrysler and Ford.

I could not anticipate that his strategy would be applied to our government.

again, a strange thing about the renewed enthusiasm for imperialism is that very few enthusiasts for imperial violence in any of these countries actually want to be the soldiers.

All this talk about buying Greenland... Grandpa was kicking the tires back in 1951 when Thule was built, in the second largest military deployment after D-Day.

So abortion is "sent back to the States," ostensibly because of the 10th Amendment?

What about the second half of the 10th? "...or to the People."

Abortion is an individual person's right. The State has no legitimate place in denying women's rights.
