I love watching my Fitbit try to figure out what the hell is going on when I'm at a metal gig.

I've never been one to turn down two concerts back to back so VOLBEAT. Consistently great every time I see them.

...every muscle in my body hurts.

Can't wait for Castle Rat to inevitably blow up because man, is this a metal band that deserves it. Bristol show was an absolute sweat fest.

Also shout out to some of the absolute garbage that got through my net this year. We salute you.

I always buy a Blu Ray of my favorite movie of the month. So congrats to Invasion of the Body Snatchers, you slapped.

THE FINAL DAY HATH COME. 31/31. THE END IS NIGH.

I watched Raw. A film that really dives deep into the classic taboos of horror cinema. Lustful, gross, vaguely incestuous coming of age film. Really enjoyed it.

I know that 'I love my friends' is a near universal experience at the RPG table but seeing my Strahd group all dress as their characters for a Halloween session really reminded me how much love and trust and passion they've poured into this silly little game we've shared together for almost 3 years

Day 30/31 was Martyrs

The kind of film where you need to take breaks because it's just 1.5 hours of non-stop violence and bleakness. The plot was a bit all over the place, but it tried to address big topics. That and the lead performances kept me interested. I enjoyed it, but it's not 'fun' at all

Day 29/31 was The Blob

Honestly I was pretty pleasantly surprised by this one. An utter cheese fest, but one with fun special effects and actually quite likeable protagonists

Day 28/31 was Funny Games

For an incredibly bleak home invasion movie, I had a lot of fun with the meta narrative. A late-stage favourite in this month's marathon.

Day 27/31 was Cuckoo

An out-there, interesting concept with an incredibly dull delivery. There was never a moment where I really cared for the characters or what might happen to them.

Day 26/31 was The Black Phone

Ethan Hawke once again having a jolly old time in a horror movie. Some interesting threads in this one about masculinity and male role models, but it didn't follow through on those in the most elegant way

Day 25/31 was As Above So Below

I wasn't really a fan of Dowdle's previous movies (like The Poughkeepsie Tapes), but this one was a little quirky and a lot of fun. The plot isn't all that innovative, but watching people get claustrophobic in the actual Paris catacombs is certainly creepy

Day 24/31 was One Missed Call

Every review I've ever seen of this rakes it over the coals for not being The Ring, but I still enjoyed it. It has plenty of charm, even if it gets a bit goofy

God I LOVE seeing Battle Beast live. One of the most underrated voices in metal. Noora Louhimo just kills it every time.
October 23, 2025 at 10:25 PM
Day 23/31 was Anaconda

Stretching the definition of a horror film, yes, but the snake shenanigans are top-tier.
October 23, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Day 22/31 was The Takin Of Deborah Logan

A pretty mid found footage horror for me that was only redeemed by the money shot in the finale.
October 23, 2025 at 5:07 PM
Day 21/31 was The Grudge

A film that's aged fairly poorly, but it still has qualities I appreciate. The film's overwhelming meanness still shines through, and Kayako still manages to creep me out.
October 21, 2025 at 5:57 PM
Day 20/31 was The Ritual

Tense, complex, and moving, with authentic British humour thrown in. Also, the monster design is cool as shit.
October 21, 2025 at 5:55 PM
Day 19/31 was Drag Me To Hell

It's really hard to enjoy the Sam Raimi spooks and japes when the characters are all thin stereotypes or downright unlikeable.
October 19, 2025 at 10:31 PM
Day 18/31 was Thanksgiving

All the silliness of Scream with less of the smarts. Eli Roth is still good at gore, in case you'd forgotten. A fun ride that isn't going to change your world.
October 19, 2025 at 10:29 PM
Day 17/31 was Ganja And Hess

Not always the most coherent movie, but a moody and unique take on vampires that I really enjoyed.
October 17, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Day 16/31 was The Rule of Jenny Pen

Most of the enjoyment is from the character work of the two leads. Definitely different seeing a care home horror though.
October 17, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Day 15/31 was Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

God this film fucks SO HARD. Might be a bit in love with Donald Sutherland.
October 15, 2025 at 9:07 PM
Day 14/31 was Children of the Corn.

One of those films that's more fun to analyse than to watch. I will probably prefer the book.
