Parent, cargobiker, #HUBcycling Bike Education Coordinator, #CyclingWithoutAge Pilot. The world is burning; bikes are part of the solution.
I hate how much this has really worked. I teach bike education to children & adults, & I find the majority of my students of all ages are afrqid to ride on the road, even traffic calmed bikeways, for fear of slightly inconveniencing drivers.

WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually can’t make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.
Annex businesses tell Ford to back off Bloor bike lanes
Stores in the Annex say the Bloor bike lanes have been a big boost to business. As Michelle Mackey reports, the neighborhood's BIA wants the province to back off its new bill that could see the lanes ...

My grandparents gave my dad booze for his birthday when he was 14 or 15, I think? BUT he was only allowed to drink it at home, from what I recall.

I think the whole operation*may* have been fueled by child labour, & this was like 28 years ago... 2/2

Huh, I just saw an ad for this yesterday, a local company. Can't remember the name... Curious to hear what it costs. I used to drop off my laundry at the laundromat near my apartment & they'd wash, dry, & fold it for like $1-2 more per load than doing it myself. 1/2

So what I'm gathering from this article is that he's basically already retired to the Okanagan but is still collecting his pay as a city councillor?

BC Place houses our football team & our soccer team, plus they host a lot of concerts, special events & trade shows. It's used about five days a week. Doesn't really sit empty.

Vancouver does this well too: BC Place (football & soccer) & Rogers Arena (hockey) are right downtown, close to SkyTrain, & the games often have bike valet. Nat Bailey (baseball) is a bit outside of downtown, but it's right on a couple neighborhood bikeways, a 15-min walk from the Canada Line.

Basically! Tis the season of closed car windows though, so they never hear my heckling anymore.

Tonight, a driver stopped in the midst of a left turn, while he was blocking the oncoming lane, to gesture about my light as I was waiting at a beg button. Like, HOW was my bike light, which was 90° to his left, worse than the headlights on the massive pickups coming straight at him? 😂

I love penny tile! I'm guessing it's a massive hassle to install, but it looks amazing.

Yeah, I remember the switch in my small town from 5-digit calling to 7. Must have been in the early 80s?

I can remember my various landlines from 1986, 1989, 1997, my & my husband's cells, & that's it. I don't have my kids' memorized now.
