Currently writing a nostalgic, comfortable novel that falls apart to remind you what’s missing in todays society. Apparently I feel deeply about small comforts and big silences.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to define my writing style and I’m at a loss. ‘A writer of quiet books with loud emotions’ is the closest I got but it still doesn’t sit right.

I dove deep into the opinions of Ai in writing. Having Ai write a story is wrong, yes. People using Ai for proofreading makes sense to an extent I feel. I’ve seen editors on YouTube try to tear people down for it. Interesting.

“A clear mind, unhurried steps, handwritten words and a quiet life seems to be a sinking luxury to society. Maybe ‘keeping up with the times’ just isn’t for me.” - Elsie Marin

Writers keep turning the “wise old prophet” into an 18-year-old suburban kid with no life experience… then call it innovative writing.

Creativity is important, but please make it make sense!

I honestly believe 2000’s teen movies taught boys that women would throw themselves at them just for existing. Clueless men wrote these scripts and it worked… Respect didn’t sell, so neither did effort. #teenmovies #popculture #unlearning

“The scent of popcorn once meant magic. A broken memory of trailers dimming, hearts racing, stories about to begin. Now it sits still, wheels untouched, like a forgotten usher to nights that felt bigger than they were.” - Elsie Marin

They once held entire worlds in plastic shells. Hours replayed, remembered. Now they sit quietly, like old friends waiting for someone to ask about the past.

Just finished another revision session. The first 3 chapters finally feel air-tight. Such a great feeling when it all clicks into place. The importance of patience!

My novel sounds over-complicated, yet it’s easy to follow:

“A coming-of-age psychological survival thriller set in an emotionally sterilized dystopia. Four unlikely friends cling to memory, connection, and the warmth of chosen family as the world forgets how to feel.”

I'm late! Only just came across this 😅 My antagonist isn't a person. It's an Ai project gone wrong. It becomes self-preserving. It begins to force certain agendas on social medias, billboards begin to have strange wording. It believes that human emotion is a virus, so it aims to suppress it..
#WritingLifeMonthly
I kinda struggle to create good antagonists. A lot of my stories are character vs environment so the "antagonist" is the city of Saint Martin, or Possum Trot, or Tacust.

If you joined us in March for #WritingLifeMonthly, you should eagerly nod "Yes" to this. Reading other posts, you may have noted that not all antagonists are people. Sometimes they are inner demons, the environment or something else.

Has the word “content” been completely tainted by tech guys and influencers? Like I don’t appreciate any of my work being called content. It implies that my work is a part of the bland algorithmic system. Maybe it’s just me 🤷‍♂️ #artist #writers

I'm trying to find the right community to follow on here but I'm struggling. I tend to write character-driven phycological thrillers. I like my stories to start with comfort and nostalgia then pull it away slowly. Can someone direct me to some pages.. PLEASE!? 😅 #writerscommunity #BookSky #novel

Some of us just wanted to write. Not be part of a regurgitation machine.

Modern poetry often feels like it’s more interested in impressing itself than in reaching the reader. I still enjoy it. I just feel that there’s a fine line between introspection and self-indulgence. No shade to poets—some just seem a bit lost trying to prove their talent. #poetry #writerscommumity

Genuine question for all writers. I have a character in my novel that writes a journal. It’s quite significant to a plot point later in the story. Would it be wise to write a mock journal of hers to fully understand the weight of it? Or would that be over the top? #writercommunity #writer #novel

My first entry. Be nice 😅 I’m aware of how ridiculous this segment is but it was the first part that I found that had the word ‘bed’ 👀
