@siracusa going back to iOS vs. macOS low disk space handling: I just had an „adventure” with iOS in that regard. I’ve been running iOS 26.1 beta on my phone and getting low disk space alerts for the last 2 weeks. (1/3)

@atpfm I forgot my AirPods Pro 2 the other day and my wife did let me use her 1st gen ones (which she got handed down from me). The difference in ANC was huge. If the 3s being half of that difference it will be great

@siracusa I believe some people used rsync (!) to make file deletion faster (than rm -rf). I’m just doing what you do if I see the empty trash will take too long (or just use it directly on whatever I need to delete).

@caseyliss with iperf it’s not hdd limiting you, but the CPU on your NAS might be the limiting factor. Have you looked up what speed did your Mac negotiate (either in system/network settings or in UniFi App)?

@siracusa I have a UPS that will shut down if the power drawn from it is higher than it supports - for me it was 450W UPS vs. computer that draws ~550W (measured, while gaming), even when the power is online, so I’d advise to be careful with that.

@atpfm Re: Ad blockers. If we all had 8$ a month for YT, they’d soon ask for more. And every website would ask for $$$ a month just to let you use it. I’ll continue to use ad blockers as the ads make the web unusable. If a site tries to make itself unusable with ads blocked I make the decision […]
