Its a bit of both. Its really just a complex modification to an existing model. By using cast brass detail parts, I can mix and match to make my own model.

Brass requires a bit more prep than plastic, plus a good primer coat that can bite into the metal. Otherwise, its very similar. Brass does offer a more fragile surface however so chipping is likely if anything later gets bent or dinged.

Not a clue sadly. I just managed to find 3 full pairs of trucks in a junk brass box.
